Re: Book you never finished
It wasn't a page turner and had so much overdone dialect and the characters fell short. I never wanted to pick it up again after I had read a good 40 pages.

All I remember when I tried to read them is that I didn't understand a thing, I'm not sure why though. But now I decided to reread Pride and Prejudice and see if it was really that incomprehensible.

I know. It's suppose to be amazing, so says everyone in every English college course I've ever taken. But each time I try to read it, the prosaic atmosphere of the book engulfs my brain, and mini-Sue up there starts thinking about other books, and fruits.

Is the reality of the world different from how we perceive and experience it in our minds? Does physical reality exist apart from the human mind?

I tried reading this too. Sadly, I didn't even made it to 1/8 of the book. After a while I decided to give it to a friend as a gift.VinuW wrote:The Lord of the Rings. I started reading it twice, but never made it to the end.

I found it to be terribly boring. I was supposed to write a paper on it, too, but just couldn't get through it. I ended up skimming the Cliff's Notes. Luckily, I'm a writer, so faking my way through a paper on it was a piece of cake. I got an A.

Me too. I wasn't well at the time so thought it would be a good time to read this one. I had made it more than halfway through, then I recovered and I just couldn't face the rest of the book!
