I love getting both. I typically only buy new books from my favorite authors though. I just love going to library sales, garage sales, used books stores, ect. and finding things I have never read before and think I would enjoy. Or even going to those and finding books I never thought to find! They have history and I enjoy that.

I have a hard time spending money, so I'm more likely to buy a used book rather than new. If I was giving a gift though I'd probably buy one new. I for some reason have an easier time spending more on other people than myself.

Both. I buy used when it's available and to find new authors, and new when an old favorite's just put out a sequel because I'm a sucker and I can't wait for the paperback.

I can buy used books but I usually prefer to borrow from the library, instead of buying them.

Used, typically. I frequent one dollar book stores, or library shops.

I buy both used and new books, as long as used are for a good price. I would only give a used book as a gift if it looked new.

I only buy used textbooks or other books for school. If I am buying a book that I want to read myself, I prefer to buy them new. I like new books better because they are fresh, clean, and unused. With new books, I like that I am the first person to covet it.

I usually get a used book from a thrift store or online. They are cheaper and I don't have a lot of money. If a new book is only a dollar more, I'll get it. I'm not picky about books, just as long as the condition is fairly good with limited writing in it. I don't like writing in books.

Now I buy ebooks, but before that I always bought my books new. I am very particular about how my books are taken care of so I always bought them new.
