I love reading be it new used or a kindle. I would hive a used book as a gift as its the thought that counts and if I feel the person would enjoy it why not :D

I read a lot and I usually borrow from the library. If I buy a book it is always used unless it is a cooking, self sufficiency, or gardening book.

I figure I save at least $900.00 per year buying used.

I have given used books as gifts, they were in good condition at the time though. Though I suppose I do often buy them myself so when I see one I want someone to read I cant help myself.

I do buy alot of new books too though. I guess its about fifty fifty.

I prefer to buy used books for a few reasons. The main reason is really because they're cheaper, which is always a major plus because I can't stand how expensive books can be sometimes. And most people do take care of your books, so you can be getting a book thats almost like new for a really low amount. And they still have a kind of charm to them. Like new books are nice because you can open it for the first time and smell that new book smell. But used books have character and charm and they're worn in a little bit which I just like to call "well loved" or well read. Like, this book could have changed someone else's life and now its yours. I just really like that feeling.

I don't have a preference--if a book looks interesting, I'll buy it new or used. Although, I have bought used titles on a few occasions to save money, usually when I've been shopping on Amazon and I've already got a ton of items in my cart!

Always used! I have a used book store in my area thats only open 3 days a month so I stock up! If I cant find something Im looking for I go online to thriftbooks.com and usually have good luck there.

Either. If I am looking for an older book, I usually look for used ones first, but whatever will get the book in my hand for the best price I will do.

Both are wonderful in my mind, I love seeing both brand new books whose spine I can hear when I open up, but I also adore books that have been through a lot and are a little worse for the wear.
