Little Free Libraries

Post by Spontaneo »

Have you ever seen or heard about Little Free Libraries? I see them all of the time on Twitter. People simply make them and put them in their front yards or driveways. People may pull up, take a book from the Little Free Library with hopes that the person will return the book when finished.

I would like to build a Little Free Library, but am not quite good at building things.

So, how about you? Have you heard of Little Free Libraries and/or do you have one?

I have heard about these. I've seen the designs of them where they look almost like a little birdhouse with a glass door. One system that I heard with these is that you can also leave a book, thereby introducing endless inventory of fresh new reading material throughout the city. There's an organization that's involved. Here's the website if you haven't seen it.

Some small towns have them in a box along the side of the road. Very cute.

I have seen pictures of these on Facebook and Pinterest and one when I was traveling in Wisconsin. They are a great idea for people that aren't close to a big library or just to bring a neighborhood together.

I would love to have one. I am just worried maybe creepers would stop by.

I have seen quite a few of these! They look like little shelves with doors that are see through or just cabinets with the proper signage. I thought they were a very creative idea. I do not currently have one because my landlord is not on board for it but a lot of people in my city do have them. Even our local parks do.

I love them! They are so cute. We have a few in the public parks around me. Ours goes by the "take a book, leave a book" system. We have added a few books when cleaning out the car before! One interesting book I found in one was something along the lines of discussion topics and recipes for funerals!

I really like little free libraries! I have a few near me and there are always books that are interesting in many genres!

I think that's a good idea. Bookreaders are a great community. We have to stay together through all times. Sharing books with each other is a way to save some money and environment. I have a library cafe where you need just to buy coffee and use a huge amount of books.
