The book that I'm currently reading is Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi. The first line of the book is, "I stretched out in the sun and dug my fuzzy paws into the soft, golden sand."

Historical fantasy is not my favorite genre. However, the first line is indeed very intriguing. Thank you for sharing the first sentence of the book.
