I mainly read fantasy because it's different and enticing. I'm fond of the whole magic, dragons, etc. type of thing. However, I would read anything as long as it's well-written. Not as into non-fiction though.

When I read I experience the world through someone else's eyes and I find that it inspires me to enjoy my own experiences.

Basically everyone mentioned everything. For a person like me, I love solitude. Reading is a way to help me escape reality and all that helps me calm myself when I go through a lot.

Until recently I enjoyed reading mainly non-fiction books. However, recently I have been reading fiction and I must say it has exposed me to a new world, a new way of thinking and a greater opportunity to analyze information which is why I think I love reading.

I love reading because it widens the scope of one's knowledge. It is a way to travel into other people's lives. Also, it provides a kind of solace where reality is lacking.

Reading is great way to escape the chaotic world and enter a completely different world that tends to make feel better and relieves stress. I can go to places I've never been by just a flick of the page and my imagination.

For escapism. A book is like a portable movie you can pause and play and rewind wherever you are whenever you want.

I love being transported to different worlds, I love hearing new perspectives, I love being inspired, and I love the action of sitting down with a good book and not moving until it is finished.
