I can say that reading shaped not only my mind but my personality as well. It helped me in difficult moments while growing up, and through the following years till now, a real life saver!
And it is a lot of fun and seldom boring.
How can't you not love reading?!

a) Because it's fun.
b) To be able to live a thousand lifetimes, and experience life in so many ways that I may not be able to in reality.
c) To see life from different perspectives, and learn more about myself through the eyes of different characters.
d) It's an escape when life isn't treating me well.
e) I feel like I'm taking part in the great conversation that's been going on since the beginning of humanity. It's like getting messages from the past and having conversations with people in other dimensions.
f) It expands my mind , empathy, and knowledge.
That's why reading = life

I love using my imagination to read and allowing it to "run free". Not to mention, the extended vocabulary is a huge perk of picking up so many books!certifiedbookworm wrote: ↑21 Sep 2009, 14:57 I love reading because it opens new things to the imagination. It's like you can escape the real world and teleport to a fantasy world. You can let your imagination run free and explore places that you haven't been to. Reading also broadens the vocabulary, so you can learn while having fun. It's food for the brain and no one wants a starving brain. Reading is fun and fundamental and I can't imagine life without knowing how to read

I am with you on escaping through books. Sometimes it is nice to live the lives of others in the story then your own. Reading is a healthy way to deal with stress. Better than drugs or alcohol in my view.Miss Understood wrote: ↑30 Jan 2018, 15:34 I read to increase my knowledge for one. The internet and google have made things much easier to learn about. But the "real" reading i do to enter unknown worlds, have adventures, laugh, cry, and feel different emotions. I read to escape my stressors, even for just a little bit. Honestly i think i read because it keeps my half way sane. (Warning: some may dispute that last statement)
