I enjoy reading because it allows me to discover new things. Whatever genre it is, I can learn a lot about different things through reading books. When I read a book, it brings me serenity. When I was upset, it helped me to feel better.

For me, reading books is a never-ending quest for knowledge.

I like reading because for me, it is an escape from the real world. It takes me into a world where real-life universal laws do not apply, and where there is no sadness, only joy for me.

I like to read light humor and suspense-filled books. I find reading a great way to keep me occupied and also it's a good escape from everyday turmoils.

I find reading to be interesting because I get the message the writer sends, and sometimes the application of that it.

Like many others, the main reason for my love of reading is to escape. When I was younger my parents would fight a lot and the only way to tune them out was to crawl in bed and let the book take me to a better place.

As an adult, I don't have that problem anymore, but reading still helps me relax especially after a long, stressful day in the bookstore.

I have several reasons why I read. For knowledge. Some books are super educative, you become aware of other things you didn't know before, example, cultures, words(learn to improve your diction), politics, the life(rise and fall) of important people etc. I read to entertain myself, I'd rather read the book than watch its movie adaptation. The books are more descriptive and detailed, they capture emotions, sceneries etc better. When I'm sad, I pick a book that has happy contents.

Honestly, I can't even say. I started reading very young, and I just love it. I see myself reading into my death bed even.

I love reading! Every book transports you to a whole new world. I can relax shut out the normal day to day drag and escape without lifting a finger what more do I need.

Ironically, I really didn't like reading as a kid. (Climbing trees and ball games were much more my style.) Even the works we read in school held no interest for me. Finally, as a teen, I picked up a book by Stephen King, and I was hooked! I read everything he'd ever written, even those under his pen name, Richard Bachman. I think his brand of storytelling taught me how to appreciate a well-spun yarn and enabled me to branch out into other genres. Today, I am a retired Language Arts teacher who spent 33 years hoping to instill a love for reading in my students.

Reading is just something I love doing. I like to think it is inborn. I read for entertainment. I am really fascinated by the lifestyle of fictional characters, makes me see the world from another perspective.
Reading is educative too. I learn new words and phrases to add to my vocabulary
