An author said its the best example of time travel. Takes you somewhere else every time...does it not?

Reading inspires me and it also helps in polishing the creative part of my brain. I also read to escape my crazy thoughts and everything around me. It's like I'm the main character in the book when I read a literary piece.

I like reading because:
1.) It takes me to a lot of places;
2.) It helps me keep my mind sharp and gets me entertained as well as knowledgeable;
3.) We have to agree that people in the books are better than people in real life;
4. It helps me connect with people, fictional or not; and
5.) Because I'm really introverted and talentless and I could not do anything in my spare time.

Two reasons.

1. To learn about a subject - usually one I would not previously have been interested in.
2. To relax, like watching a movie.

Books are a great source of information which at times translates to knowledge.
Helps me visit other eras before the current one and some actually try to take you to the future.
You see things from another perspective and appreciate the way other people think.
When I have mood swings, a book can help bring about some centre of Gravity.

I like to read because it disconnects me from my surroundings; I enjoy learning new things, reading about fearless or thoughtful characters, or different people's positions on love and life.

In my youth, reading was an escape from dull reality. Now, it is relaxation, when reading fiction, or broadening horizons, when reading non-fiction.

I love reading as it liberates my mind. I get to undertand the world in a different angle each time I read a book and that gives me freedom from my own thoughts and being average.

I love reading because I love how my mind creates its own imagery as the story unfolds. I can get lost inside my own head and it's a great place to find myself.

Plain and simple escapism. It's also why my favourite genre is fantasy.

I honestly have no idea why I enjoy reading so much.
It's just that I become hooked on a good book every time I come across one. I always desire more after I finish a book. I can't seem to get enough of books!

To discover new ideas and new worlds.
To see what human beings are capable of.
To escape reality.
To experience beautifully written text.
One can never experience everything first-hand. Reading is a great way to experience things one has never experienced in one's life.
