I love learning and seeing things from new viewpoints. I'm mostly focused on nonfiction (history, science, true crime, etc.) right now, but fiction is also a great way of exploring other people's worldview. No matter the genre, every author leaves a bit of themselves in their work and so you get to see not only the people and places in the book but also a bit about the person writing.

I also love the feeling of accomplishment that can come from finishing a book and marking it 'read'. And the scent of older books. And just curling up with a book and a hot drink on a rainy day, or in the sun with a book and a cold drink on a sunny day.

My family taught me to read when I was very young. I have fond memories walking with my father to storytime at the library. Reading books in the attic with my brother. Sitting for hours on my kitchen floor with a stack of books to read. I love to read and I’ve necer stopped. I went to college for English I’m proud of my BA then I went to graduate school and finished my MFA.

Reading, unlike watching, juggles the mind through one being actively involved. It also enhances imagination hence good for development of this skill. Books also have a wide store of knowledge in them and there is nothing as old as this system of passing on knowledge apart from the oral technique. Another thing about reading is the availability of many books under different genres.

I get this question all the time. I love reading because I can be a thousand different people in a thousand different times and places. I get to see through these characters eyes and know what they are thinking.
