The last book I read was The Unbound Soul by Richard Haight, and since this website uses ratings out of four typically, my rating was a three out of four. Great read for the spiritual being and to learn to connect with your spiritual being on a whole different level than I have ever seen or heard of!

I just finished The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon. 8/10. He has several other books and this one is actually one of my least favorite. He's a great horror writer. Check him out!

I just finished reading And I Darken by Kiersten White. I gave it a 4/5 Stars. It’s a very detailed historical fiction novel on Vlad the conquered, with a slight twist. Vlad is now portrayed as a young girl.

The last book I read was The Unbound Soul by Richard Haight. I gave it a 4 out of 4 star rating. It was a very good metaphysical/spiritual book written for the advanced seeker.

Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren. I give it 3 out of 4 stars. I felt it was off to a very good start then it kind of slowed down after a few chapters. But it picked up well at the middle and it had a nice end.

New Spring by Robert Jordan is the first in the Wheel of Time fantasy series, technically Book 0, a prequel to Book 1, The Eye of the World.

I will say little of the plot - it almost doesn't matter - except that it does establish very well the opportunities for developing an extensive saga of empire building involving the forces of light and dark, with plenty of good and evil, battles between men using traditional weapons as well as battles involving various magical and fantastical forces.

The story is well written, engaging, quite compelling - a page turner. Despite a somewhat confusing beginning, the story settled quickly and flowed well, becoming more interesting as it went.

Although this is suitable for young adult readers - there is no swearing, overt sex or gratuitous gruesomeness - Jordan does include hints of sexuality, especially hints of lesbian attraction between the principal female characters, notwithstanding that each refers at times with anticipation their first sexual encounters with men.

3.5 stars out of 5 - I couldn't quite give it a 4.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
