What is the last book you read, and your rating?

The last book I read was The Chaos of the Stars by Kiersten White. I will confess it was a re-read but I loved it all over again.

The Chaos of the Stars follows Isadora on her journey of trying to find out just who she is after leaving her family behind. But when family is the Egyptian god and goddess, Osiris and Isis, drama follows her from Egypt to San Francisco. Throw in a heavy hit of a first love who has a creepily coincidental name, a sinister half brother, a job at a museum, and you have the makings of an amazing story that anyone can enjoy.

I seriously recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the Percy Jackson universe. Similar drama and hilarity with a bigger message about family and it's importance. Definitely a 4 out of 4.

The last book i read was dead heat by patricia briggs and i give it 4 stars. It was well weitten and edited.even though it was a fantasy book the characters were likable and seemed real. I will probably read the next book in the series when i am finished with the book i am currently reading.

The last book I read was A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.
It was amazing. So raw and emotional and definitely worth the hype. I can only recommend it. 4 out of 4 Stars.

From its brilliant opening sentence - "It was the day my grandmother exploded." - The Crow Road by Iain Banks had me completely hooked, and I just couldn't put it down.

The Crow Road (which has several meanings referenced in the novel) is the story of three interlinked middle class Scottish families - McHoan, Urvill and Watt - across a couple of generations, concluding in the early 1990s with the Gulf War playing on TV in the background.

Much of the story is narrated by young Prentice McHoan, the middle of three brothers, who struggles with his own academic and relationship uncertainties as he develops into his early adulthood, while trying, amateurishly, to solve a mystery of the previous generation, which involves his long-missing Uncle Rory.

The remainder of the story is related in the third person, including some contributions from the writings of Uncle Rory, moving seamlessly back and forth in time and changing the perspective of events that occur across the generations.

Despite the numerous family dramas, romances and several dramatic deaths (no one dies quietly in this story - even grandmother explodes after her death), Banks maintains a lightness of touch, a sense of humour and a wistfulness in both his narrative passages and dialogues.

Banks also doesn't shy away from sex and religion, and both are covered with wit, humour and the occasional gravitas befitting the situation. Ultimately, this is a book about families, death and how middle class families deal with these inevitabilities of life.

The last book I read was Guardian of Deceit by William H. Coles. I gave it 2 of 4 stars because it was rather slow moving, the plot was hard to uncover and I didn't feel the characters had much depth. I have to admit I was disappointed.

Would highly recommend to anyone who loves thrillers, the plot was amazing and very clever and I literally couldn't put it down!

The last book I read was "The Hunger Games" -Suzanne Collins. It is a very enjoyable, quick YA read. I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5.

The first book was definitely my favorite out of the series. I also agree with your rating.

It really was anazingly written withba strong and solid plot line, i finished it in 24 hours.
