I did it when i was like a teenager. But i don`t do it anymore.
A mistake is simply another way of doing things

Yes i do lie that I've read a book but that's only when I'm actually planning to read the book, lying isn't a good thing and i wouldn't recommend that to anybody

No. I have no reason to. If I haven't gotten around to something, I would just say I have not read it yet but someday probably will.

No, I'm very honest anyway, but imagine your horror if it was their favorite book and they wished to discuss it. Easier to tell the truth you might get a recommendation for your own next read

No. I'm not even sure why I would do that. I guess I'm about the most avid reader of anyone I know so I'm not ashamed of what I have and haven't read. Would you lie and say you hadn't read a book if you had? Some people are embarrassed to admit they read Fifty Shades of Grey but not me. I will tell anyone not to bother with it, it's awful.

Yes, I used to. I did it out of insecurity for not reading a book that everyone else had already read, and brought them closer. I used to just nod along in blind agreement, without anything useful to add. At some point, I realised how ridiculous it was, and stopped. Lol.

I've never read Fifty Shades of grey, and I don't know if I want to or not. It's mostly the theme of BDSM that perks my interest, but I hate female protagonists that are weak and so easily manipulated by a man with money. I watched the first two movies, and they were underwhelming. If there is a book with a similar premise and strong female protagonist, I'll definitely check it out.

As I recall, I did not do this. What is the point of such a lie?
When I was in school, many children pretended to read books that they were supposed to read. However, I did read such books. Classic books have never been a problem for me.

No! I don't see the point of that. Besides, what do we do if they ask us a question about the book or related to something in the book?

Yes, I used to lie back then because I wasn't a big fan of books and I surrounded by introverts who are bookworms so there was insecurity in me. However, I've had ever tried one novel which is very thick that I've never read before but I don't remember the title. I thought the novel was dull to read because I don't usually read thick novels but turns out it was good. Currently, I've read a few fantasy novels because I'm into that kind of genre more than others.

No, I don't see the point. I noticed that people who read very little or no books at all sometimes lie about it. I read - in some magazine, not in a book... - about people buying best-sellers that seem particularly trendy just to pretend they read them. Seems really silly to me. :D

I only do this when I am supposed to read a book in school and I find it either boring or I do not set up enough time to read it before the project for the book is due and therefore there is no reason to read it anymore. However, I try not to do this as often.

Books in school... today you can find summaries and reviews on the Internet, when I was in high school in the 1980s the only hope was if you knew someone who already read the book and had already wrote a summary / review, otherwise you had to suck it up and read it.

I would never do it. It's a bit useless. You would not understand the book related quips or you can talk about it. People will know anyway.
