I feel fortunate that all the Harry Potter books came out during summer vacations because I can only imagine what a mess I would have been had there been school the next day. I've done it with other books to a lesser extent, I think it's just part of loving to read.

I have, but not in many years. When I was in college I sometimes had to stay up all night reading and studying for tests.

I'm not such a night owl though, so even if it's a real page-turner I don't forego sleep. If I'm reading past my usual bed-time I get sleepy and fall asleep after an hour or so.

Good on you for being such an enthusiastic reader!

Way more often than I'd like to attempt. Then, I spend the next day mentally lecturing myself that I only did it to myself.

Ugh, so many times! Starting when I was really young, too... The worst are when it gets so late/ early in the morning that my brain goes, "Oh well, you may as well just finish it now!" And I don't sleep at all. Although this has become less of a problem as I have gotten older and the repercussions of no sleep are more severe than they were when I was a teen.

I have given up sleep for a book I couldn't put down several times and I don't regret it at all.

I do it most times, when the book is super interesting and full of suspense. I will want to know what happened next.

The book must really be boring to help me catch a wink, once a little excitement is in a book, sleeps disappear for me. I have to struggle hard to get it back.

I have done that so many times. An interesting book is worth reading to the end even if means staying awake all night and even the next day.

I love reading and I too have missed many nights of sleep. Between insomnia and getting up and down all night with kids i never sleep anyway, so why not read. The hubby thinks I have lost my mind.

Oh sorry for my typo. But i agree with you. I find it hard to finish a book when it is boring. And i doze off.

When Harry Potter 7 came out, we took the family to the midnight release party. We got home around 12:30 in the morning. I had finished the book by 9 a.m. I took a nap for a couple hours and read it again.

This happens to me a lot, I always have the 'Just 1 more chapter' line running through my head, but it never stops at just 1 more!
I don't think I've stayed up the entire night reading, but definitely for an extra 2-3 hours. Usually I get to the point where my eyes feel so heavy I physically can't read anymore and give in,
I go to seek a Great Perhaps
