crank, go ask alice, cut...ect. are all books that i found the charters dealing with struggles not exactly like what I've dealt with, but similar.
i also find young adult fiction, very enjoyable.( especially if it has a strong female heroin )
alice in zombieland, generation dead, iron witch...ect. all these books have a fantasy about them, but its still based in a believable world and that's what truly captivates me when reading.
i also enjoy horror like Stephen king and anne rice.
"cell" by Stephen king was a amazing book I've read at lest 4 times.
i also love biography's. "Night" was incredible.

Same here, I love fiction whether realistic or not. I feel a mind that can create fiction can create a new world. In fiction, the author takes you into his/her worldLauraH wrote: ↑09 Oct 2009, 08:52 I like to read fiction books- though realistic fiction is what they used to call it.
I read it because it has the ability (if the author is good) to transport my mind to another place, another time, and to borrow the other person's life for a few hours. I like it when I can learn something about myself from the characters, and when there is an overall "lesson learned" by the end of the story.
I don't like to read non-fiction because it is too boring, IMO.
I don't like self help books either, because I like to figure things out on my own.
I typically don't like sci-fi or fantasy either, but lately I've been finding myself meandering toward that genre. Wonder what I will end up reading next?

I like to read non-fiction books, biographies, self-help, and sometimes historical fiction. Why? Because it helps me renew and be a better version of myself.cathygray wrote: ↑09 Oct 2009, 00:28 Hello people. Reading books is a hobby and there are several kinds of books such as fiction, non-fiction, self-help, fantasy, real-life stories, biographies, etc.
So, guys tell me what kinds of books you prefer and why?
The answers have to be different as it depends on individual to individual.
