I have never cried while reading a book. However, I was really close to shedding some tears when I read "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver. That made it one of my favorite books.

The last two books I have read that I can remember bringing on the waterworks was The Fault In Our Stars by John Green which is also an excellent movie. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks had me blubbering like a baby. The movie, however, not so much. Come to think about it, most Nicholas Sparks novels completely weaken me to tears. 8)

When I first began my life as a reader I didn't cry at all. Crying was a form of weakness, I could hold my breath at the saddest things. That was until I met my match, We Were Liars. The book was enjoyable all the way through. It was very cute and I may would've rated a 3 out of 5 if it would had have stopped with the island, her friends, and her love story, but no, it didn't. The ending hit me like a freight train, so unexpected and so unwanted. I was bawling my eyes out and couldn't calm down. I had no clue that I was attached to the characters as much as I was before I read the end. After the ending it became one of my favorite books because it defeated me.

I shed a few tears while reading Les Miserables. The ending of the story brought up some mixed feelings.

He's taken written by Yam-Yam28. It has a lot of twists in it making me so confused on how it would end.

My favorite book as a kid was Anne of Green Gables. When one of my favorite characters died in the book, I was totally heartbroken and cried.

So did I, it was required reading at school. I'll never ever forget it.

I've cried over countless books, but one of the more recent ones that had me bawling was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

Rose in Bloom by Louisa May Alcott. The page where Charlie dies is warped and stained yellow from all the times I cried over it.

The Horse Whisperer - as a rider I could really sympathize with the characters in the book.
