It take a real special book to make me cry, but there have been a few that destroyedmy emotions. The ones that I can think of at the moment are:

The Book Thief
Where the Red Fern Grows
The Song of Achilles
The Kite Runner
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle

And each one of them I would recommend anyone to read.

It may be a cliche, but the only book that made me cry is P. S I Love You!

It's hard for me to really emotionally connect with a book, even if it's well-written, but there are a few that come to mind.

Startide Rising by David Brin
A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick
The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen
Stoner by John Williams

That first one doesn't sound like it fits, but Startide Rising has one of my favorite casts of characters in any book and I was so invested I cried at one point.

There are so many books that have made me cry. Some books didn't even have a sad storyline still certain parts had me sobbing like a child.

The Fault In Our Stars ~ John Green
A Walk To Remember ~ Nicholas Sparks
I don't think anybody can read these 2 books without creating a pool of their own tears.

Then there is this series called 'bullied'. This is such a sad story. I mean it does have a happy ending but after like, uncountable hardships.

I read a book about 13 years ago called A child called It. Written by David Pelzer. Absolutely heartbreaking story of child abuse. Had me crying constantly! The author wrote the book about his own childhood which makes it even more heartbreaking to read.

This summer I read Kite Runner. I cried when the son found out after his father died. His father lied to him about his friend. I lost it when his friend died. I didn't like the protagonist he was a brat. Still I felt his loss and I enjoyed the story.

I have cried at many books. Most recently, Michelle Obama's Becoming got me. It's very profound, humble, responsible, and kind. The amount of respect she gives others, the high ambition she has always had, and her broad approach to all situations are respectable in so many ways.

I sometimes read books I have written years ago. I just finished "Brothers One", a story about conjoined twins. I am 88 years old and can be a cantankerous cynic but in recent years I have developed a sentimentality that can move me to tears. Not audibly, but the tears can flow profusely at times when I am aroused. This happened times as I read Brothers One and saturated Kleenex tissues. David.

For me, it was a fiction. And the title was a kiss in the rain. Idk, it just made me cry because of the ending. I really hate it when someone dies. Hmm.

Oof, I don't cry frequently, but some books have made me cry. The first one I cried reading was the last Harry Potter book. I must've been 12 at the time. I also cried reading TFiOS by John Green, which is strange because I didn't even like the book very much!
A less known, but very good back that really made me cry is Furnace: Solitary, also read this at a very young age. I think if I read it now, I might still cry!

Little Women makes me cry every time I re-read it. Such an incredible book
