Jasper Fforde’s Shades Of Grey made me cry when Courtland did. He’d been the anti-hero throughout and then suddenly you realised he was just a teenager.

There's only ever been 2 books so far which have made me cry.

The first was the end of the Legend trilogy by Marie lu.

The other was the end of the circle trilogy. The Circle Complete (The Circle, #3) by K. M. Montemayor. It was even the story which made me sad with this one. It was the darned cat right at the end.

Yes, absolutely! If the writing's good and you get utterly lost in the story then you can't help but empathise with the characters and get swept along accordingly. I'm sure there are more but some that have got me every time are:

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (ditto the film).
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (ditto the film).
Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernières.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling.
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell.
The Diary of Anne Frank.
Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian.
Atonement by Ian McEwan (ditto the film).
Night Shall Overtake Us by Kate Saunders.
The Fitz and the Fool trilogy by Robin Hobb, particularly Assassin's Fate.
War Horse by Michael Morpurgo (ditto the stage play and the film).
The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje (although admittedly more the film).
Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra (ditto the film).
Life of Pi by Yann Martel.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon (ditto the stage play).

A Walk To Remember made my heart so heavy I cried the first and second time I have read it. And I never dared for a third time!

This question immediately makes me think of A Walk To Remember. That book made me so emotional and probably more so than any other. I could definitely read it over and over

Hmm, though I used to get emotional while am Reading some books, but the only book that have really made me cry is a religious book AL QUR'AN which is author is Allah, I always cry whenever I read about the punishment in the afterlife for those who doesn't worship him, am always scared that I might not have worshiped him enough, that's because our deeds will be measured on a scale on that day.

The Bible
I cry for a lot of emotional books; I think the latest was The Sentinels of Andersonville by Tracy Groot. I wasn't bawling, but at least tears came to my eyes. Very sad/shocking but excellent read.

I don't ever remember crying over a book, not a single one. Odd.
While the sad parts of some books do effect me, I've never experienced it strongly enough to cry. In fact, I would say it makes me feel bittersweet.

Perhaps the books that make us sob most happily wrenchingly are read in childhood.
How many times did I weep over Heidi's homesickness when I was small? A few dozen, I suppose ––and now I don't even admire that book; it's preachy and manipulative.

Pretty much every emotional scene in a book leaves me in tears. If someone says this book was an emotional read and I read it and don't cry, don't believe him. The book definitely wasn't the slightest bit emotional.

Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Cage. It made me bawl like a baby.

My Sisters Keeper is the only book that has ever left me in tears. I cannot imagine losing a child.

Anything by Jodi Picoult. Read Handle With Care or Nineteen Minutes and I challenge anyone not to lose it completely.

I cried when I read my favorite book, "The book thief". It was just perfect. I remember also crying at "The fault in our stars" and "Game of thrones".
