Nice book here. I would also like to read it. It seems that it is very interesting.Sunday diamond wrote: ↑08 Nov 2018, 17:24 Currently, I am reading The Spirit of Wants by William H. Coles.

I must say I struggled with it a bit.DATo wrote: ↑16 Nov 2018, 13:33 The Hunchback Of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. This is the first time I've read this novel and I am finding it surprisingly better than I thought it would be. I already knew the basic story from the movie staring Charles Laughton as Quasimoto, but the quality of the writing (which is of course a translation from the French) is what makes this especially enjoyable.

I thought you might reprimand me for not continuing with Decline and Fall *LOL*. At the YMCA, whose gym I use, they have a bookcase where people can take a book if they leave one to replace the one they've taken. Someone left 8 hardbound classics which are part of a set. I took them all and replaced them with 12 other books. I opened The Hunchback Of Notre Dame and began reading and haven't stopped. I will get back to The Decline and Fall Of The Roman Empire someday (I'm now on volume 3), but I keep running into other books I want to read first *LOL*Redlegs wrote: ↑18 Nov 2018, 02:07I must say I struggled with it a bit.DATo wrote: ↑16 Nov 2018, 13:33 The Hunchback Of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. Decline and Fall takes some patience and perseverance. I am reading a kindle edition that is divided into 2 parts. I have completed Part 1 and will tackle Part 2 in 2019. We may end up finishing about the same time. LOL.DATo wrote: ↑18 Nov 2018, 04:37I thought you might reprimand me for not continuing with Decline and Fall *LOL*.
