Redlegs,
My deepest apologies for taking so long to reply. I had missed your post. I read the first two books and then took a detour to read Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy (which was very good), and I am currently reading Ender's Game for the second time. I will be getting back to Gibbon though. I got the other two books for free and they were too tempting to ignore - "The Spirit Is Weak". I am committed to finishing Decline And Fall though and I will be getting back to it very soon. I have learned a lot from Gibbon so far especially about the early Christian Church under Constantine in the second volume which was very enlightening and at times shocking. Stuff I had never known before.

Really good book! No, not about another take on Cinderella like I guessed from the name. About a descendent (teen girl) of the Grimm brothers who wrote the fairy tales that is cursed (just like her father before her) to either live thru the fairy tales and get thru the whole passed down "enchanted" book or die trying. I'm not done yet but so far is a really good book.
Downloaded from Barnes and Noble for free as I do a lot of my books- authors want you to try their series. Some even let you try 2 or 3 of the first ones. Then if you like the series though of course then you may feel tempted to purchase the next book.
