I usually reach for short story collections in the summer. They are quick to read, and finish at the pool. I do read longer novels this time of year too, but not as often as I try to be more active outdoors while the weather is nice.

I drift more towards romance and fantasy in the summer. People say that spring is supposed to be a "beginning" stage, but to me summer is full of even more possibilities! :D

I tend to re-read the Harry Potter books in the summer; however this summer I have been reading more new novels (at least new to me!). But for the summer I usually look for books with shorter chapters that are easy to travel with and read for short periods of time. The reason why Harry Potter works so well is because I have read them so many times that if I have to put it down for a while it's very easy to get back into. The Summer months are the busiest for me at work, so with working long hours, I like to find something that I don't have to think about too much when I get home.

Like always, I'll read anything that looks remotely interesting! So far this summer, I've read a couple of great fantasy and YA books, along with some good biographies.

Short stories were my favorite to read this summer also. I read YA novels during the fall, while I'm in school and need some supplementary reading for extracurricular fun.
