Paperback, but specifically trade paperbacks. I do most of my reading in bed and they’re the perfect size and weight for reading and turning pages

I usually don't mind and can go with either just as easily... but I do have to admit that I tend to break hard covers easier because of how I tend to bend them when I'm reading in bed.

I really would love both types! But I do prefer hardback because I have kids, and they tend not to rip as much as paperbacks. ^_^ Although, some of my favorite books are paperbacks. It's a toss up, it's just about how paperbacks don't stand wear and tear as much in my opinion that matters most right now to me.

Paperback or hardcover?

I have my book in both covers. Still, I like to hold a hardcover book. It feels more authentic and traditional, and more valuable.
It feels protected. From my very childhood I remember at home only hardcover books. Maybe, this conditioned me.

As an author, I put the books in both ways to give the customer the right to choose.

Paperbacks because they take less space but hardcover for the special ones.

It depends on the type of book. For textbooks and reference materials I prefer a hardcover - they last longer. For novels I prefer a paperback - easier to carry around, less weight.

I prefer paperbacks mostly because they are very handy and easy to carry. especially for novels, I always prefer paperbacks because it's easy to travel around with them.

I've bought more paperbacks since they cost less, but there is nothing like a hardcover book!

When it comes to a physical book I prefer hard cover. Honestly though, I prefer my kindle paper white. I like the built in light. And, because it’s just a paper white, no kids try to use it

Paperbacks are easier to handle and much more comfortable when lying in bed reading. I usually read the books in Paperback but if I like the series so much I buy it in Hardcover because they look so much prettier.

I like hardcover mostly because it’s easier on my shelves but paperback is easier to read & cheaper so I’m sort of undecided.

Hardcover for sure the book will last longer in better shape even when stored or packed away or traveled with.
