I have both, though I prefer the larger paperbacks that are popular as of late, rather than the smaller ones with tiny print. I do make sure if I'm reading a series that all books in the series are of the same make - either all paperback, or all hardback.

Both! I would rather read a hardcover but a paperback is always nice to have to for sticking in your bag and reading on the go or at night it bed. At least having the actual book is a huge improvement over the Kindle which I seem to be reading more and more on. :-(

Paper back is lighter and easier to hold. If the book has a very cool cover that will look awesome on a hardpack, i would consider the hardpack version

I definitely prefer paperback to hardback, as it can make the book heavier and harder to hold. :techie-studyingbrown:

For bigger, thick books I like Hardcover because they stay together better. This is especially true for Reference books that I really need to last. But they tend to be so much heavier, so if I don't get them on Kindle, then softcover for the carry around, non-serious books.

Paperbacks because they are easier to handle and more affordable

Paperback is easier to transport. But, hardcovers are much more durable. I love to be able to carry my book in my purse, then I am able to read it at my leisure. But, the hardcover last through the spills and rain storms that might be lurking around that day.

Then again, we have Digital...that is transportable anywhere, any time and on almost every device.

Paperback for most novels, especially if I'm taking them on public transport, on holiday, etc, but some non-fiction, especially if illustrated, are better in hardcover.

Mostly, I buy paperbacks because they are cheaper and I think I like them more because they aren't as bulky and are nicer to hold. I used to like hardbacks more but I think mostly it depends on the book and if it's a really pretty cover then it doesn't matter and I don't mind either. Also, I can buy almost double the amount of books if I buy paper backs which is pretty sick.

Paperbacks have that nice new book smell. Hardcovers smell nasty.

I love both. Paperback are easier to carry around because they can be tucked into bags and are lighter, but a nice hardcover is a beauty.

It depends, while I like both hardcover and paperback books.I prefer hardcover. I think they look nicer on a bookshelf and, they stay in good shape longer. However, if I'm taking a book with me I usually go with paperback because they can be a lot lighter.

I'm overall neutral. I have paperback, hardcover, and electronic, and I really don't have a preference. Maybe paperback for the sole reason of it generally being less expensive.
