Hardcover for nonfiction and paperbacks for the rest. I like ebooks too because of the price and the fact that I can have a whole library in my phone.

For classics, favorites or series I always go with hardcover. For most else I will opt for paperback for pricing and carriability. I do read on my kindle app as well but never for the classics or favorites; it would feel like cheating on them somehow!

Paperbacks for sure. It is easier for me to clean them.

I prefer Hardcover books because it offers more protection. I bring my book wherever I go so sometimes that's tossing it in my car or backpack that's filled with other stuff. Plus sometimes I use the book as a coaster if it has a hardcover

If it is a current series I collect, then I prefer hardcover. This is mostly because I typically buy those books on release day when they are only available in hardcover. However, if I start an older series in paperback, I have to buy the rest of them in paperback as well. The inconsistency in appearance on my shelves kills me.

I try to always go for hardcover, but they tend to be more expensive, so I have to weigh between cost.

If the choice is available then paperbacks for sure. They're just much easier to handle and bring around. Hardcovers tend to be more cumbersome and take up more space.

If I decide to buy the physical book instead of reading it as an e-book, I would opt for hardcover if I wanted to keep it as part of my library permanently.

I love hardcover, there's just something so official about it, the smell of the book changes, but honestly I just use ebooks these days, because we gotta save the environment any way we can, and if we can use an alternative, we should!

I have overdosed with screens these days, so anything between paperback or hardcover seems like a pleasant break.

I like the look and feel of hardcover better, but I prefer to read paperback as hardcovers can get unwieldly.

I love both but hardcover books have a slight advantage.

I prefer paperback because they are so much cheaper, but sometimes they get ripped from too much travel. I adore hardcover books with jackets that have a map on the inside.

never had a preference, I just bought what I could, which was mostly paperback. If I really liked a book I would find a nice hardcover addition though. Or, if I was really into a series and I bought the next installment right when it came out it was usually a hardcover.
