Hard backs are great for quarto and art books. The lighter the content, the lighter should be the weight of the reading matter, I believe.

I'm not picky. It's all about whichever I can find second-hand. I rarely buy new books. But, I do agree with people who say that paperbacks are easier to handle. And, I do, whenever possible, try to match them in a series. Like if I find all but one in paperback, I'll eventually replace that one hardback with a paperback if I find one.

I prefer hardcover as I'm pretty hard on books, especially my favorites. I hate it when my first copy paperback of a favorite needs to be binned and replaced because it is almost in several pieces. Plus, dust jackets make great bookmarks.

While I always prefer a real book to a virtual one, the virtual ones are easier to get a hold of at 2 in the morning when you need the next in the series and are easy to break out in waiting rooms.

I love both. Paperback is easier to manage and carry around on my person, however, I find it easier to prop a hardcover against a surface, curl up in bed and read.

I tend to go for paperback. Since I have had carpal tunnel surgery I like the lightweight of the paperback.

I think it depends on how much I love the author that wrote the books. I tend to buy hardback from my favorite authors and then paperback if it is from someone I have not read from before. Also I would buy paperback for series because she are cheaper.

Typically I'll get a paperback when I don't know if I like a book, then if I do like it, I'll pass around my paperback among friends and get myself a hardcover to love forever ♥

Paperback is cheaper, but hardcover is durable. I prefer hardcover for this reason and the beautiful (and removable) dust jacket. If the hardcover gets beat up, I can put the dust jacket back on and it will still look brand new. The paperback will, sadly, show its battle scars. While I do see a worn book as a loved book, there are some people who are just careless with them. Nonetheless, both are great.

Paperback all the way! I love how flexible it is and so easily fits into my hand, no matter how thick. I have few Hardbacks - HP and the cursed child, Perfect - by Cecelia Ahern and a mixture of Terry Pratchet

I'll read with paper or hardcover but I generally prefer paper. I guess I just like the feel of it better even though that might sound kind of weird

I generally prefer hardcover books just because they feel better in my hand and it’s harder to tear them up. Unfortunately, they are a bit expensive but still.

Hardcovers look better but are heavier, paperbacks get torn more easily but are lighter and cheaper. I don't know, I just love books, no matter their form.

I prefer paperback, but hardcover just looks so much classier.
