I’m neutral. I get hardcovers of my absolute favorites or the classics. I own some paperbacks as well. I would say that I now prefer electronic for the sole purpose of lack of storage space.

I read a lot of my books lying in bed and a hard back in that position is so much more difficult to handle

Hardcovers are ideal because of the simple elegance and propriety that they emit, but if I must be honest, I prefer paperbacks, not because I'm holding back on the money (never!!) but because they suit my way of reading far better than hardcovers. I read whenever I feel like it so it wouldn't do if I don't have a book to carry around with me everywhere. Hardcovers are simply too heavy for that. Another thing would be that paperbacks have this cute warmth that I can't feel when I read from hardcovers.

I can't explain it well...

I prefer Hardcover, mostly for the fact that they are much more durable. I have quite a few Paperbacks and the ones I have that are starting to get a little older are tearing apart from being bent and folded. While I agree that paperbacks are cheaper I think that paying the little bit extra for hardcover is worth the money as the book will last much longer.

I prefer hardcover. Paperbacks are nice too. What I really don't like are digital copies.

Paperback for new books because I am cheap!

Older books from thrift, Hardback all the way!

Digital for convenience only, not really a fan otherwise.

I prefer hardcover as far as aesthetics go, but I like the softer feel of a paperback in my hands.

If I were to pick up a book again instead of reading on my kindle I would say paperback. Paperback is easier to carry around when your on the go. When I was a teen the only books from the Library I wanted were paperback, so I could carry more home.

Hardcover when not pressed financially,
Paperback when financially pressed,
Hardcovers last longer.

The good thing about paperbacks is that they are lighter and cheaper than hardcovers. Its great for a on the go read. However, I have realized that they don't hold up as well over the years. Hardcovers are a bit more expensive but the quality is worth it. They tend to retain their spine and have thicker pages.

It seems to me that paperbacks win hands down. As for e-books, I find that I tend to forget about them after downloading to Kindle. Nothing more enjoyable like an actual book, really - whether paperback or hardcover - for when I find the time to read.

I can't really choose which one I prefer best. I use both kinds. I really would like to be able to buy more though. Most of my favorite books I have borrowed them from my city's library.
