I definitely am a paperback fan. I find hardcover books are too heavy for me even to prop up with my arthritis. Plus, on the rare occasion that I buy a book they are less money. I read so many books though that I tend to not purchase books as I don't have the money to buy an average of 4 books a week.

Hardcover is my favorite. I love the feel and especially the scent of the older vintage books. However, the price compared to paperback is not so great. Also, it's a lot easier to carrier around a lightweight paperback than a hardcover. I just bought my first e-reader, but I still love my hardcovers.

Depends on what I'm using the book for. If it's for reference or a textbook, I prefer hard cover. They are more durable and easier to keep open for taking notes, I find. If it's for a book to take on a trip or to read casually, I like paperback.

I usually like reading ebooks.
But have bought books, I buy my professional books in hardcover as I will have to read it after 20 years to get the proper guidance of what I am doing is correct (age factor enhance forgetfulness ☹️).
I buy the paperback books for entertainment and especially when an author has not provided a book in electronic configuration.

Best Regards 💐

I don't mind paperbacks but I just love hardcovers. I'd even buy the hardcover special edition of some books that I really love even though I already have the paperback version. They just look so good on my bookshelf. Lol.

I prefer a paperback book. They are easier to handle. Hardbacks hurt my hands. Paperbacks are also cheaper.

If it’s not a book I get on my kindle I prefer to have hard cover. It lasts longer and doesn’t get damaged as easily

Hardbacks are more durable, but it's the paperbacks that are mostly available, and cheaper too. :D

I purchase both, in addition to all the Kindle and PDF books I have.

For those of you looking to save money on books and if you have a wide variety of interest go to your neighborhood Goodwill. Their books are usually 1.99 for paperback and 2.99 for a hardback.

If you are lucky enough to have several in a 50 mile radius and travel a lot you can even get lucky and build a set. I got every book in the Left Behind series in paperback for 1.99 each. In addition, I got a nice old hardback set of Sherlock Holmes.

I, personally, prefer paperback. I know this is a bad habit but I tend to fold the pages back when reading. Also, paperback just feels much more comfortable in my hands when reading for a long amount of time.

Paperback for me. College conditioned me to think of hard covers as textbooks plus they take too much space to store/carry. Kindle/e-reader format is also pretty great :)
