I don't tend to reread a lot of books, but The Pursuit of God by A. W. Tozer is one that I have read several times over the last several years. Rumor has it Tozer wrote the manuscript for this book on a single train trip. It does feel inspired like that.

Pride and Prejudice. My all-time favorite book of Jane Austen.

Ender's Game has been my be-all and end-all for a while. I don't know why it feels so comfy and safe to me, but I pick it up whenever I'm in a dead slump.

I have several that I read over and over again. Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and The Mists of Avalon are the biggies. I've also read all the Harry Potter books several times.

I'm pretty sure the only book I've ever read more than once is The Theif of Always by Clive Barker.

I love how dark and hopeless the story is but also how full of compassion many of the characters are despite their situation.

Pride and Prejudice is my go to. I love it. My husband had to buy me another copy because I wore out my first copy.

Every couple years I have to revisit The Last Unicorn by good ol' Peter S. Beagle. It's been a favorite since childhood and if anything it's even more beautiful to read as an adult.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I could never get enough of it. It reminds me that we can't simply exist just by being 100% kind and good. There is always a bad side of us. Greed, extreme anger and jealousy, narcissistic, and so on. It is just a matter of controlling it and never let the bad side be the dominant side of you.

The third book is such a difficult but rewarding read! Like you the first two dozens of times throughout my childhood but the third book was always tok heavy for me until I finished it in my late teens and bawled my eyes out 😂

It's a weird one but The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong. I read it when I was grade 9 and it's just a comfortable book to revisit when I have reading block.

I reread Gone With The Wind every Christmas. Such a great classic. The ending gets me every time. I think the message, at least the message I get from the saga, is what I love most about this classic: you cannot manipulate people and situations to get your way in life. Scarlett never seems to learn this lesson. Fiddle Dee Dee...

I have to say that I have found myself reading The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffennegger at least 3-4 times a year. The last time I moved I realized I had two copies and had no desire to get rid of either one. I find comfort in the love story of it, the friendship throughout it, and the challenge it brings to my realist side. Thinking of it now, draws me to pull it down off the shelf again....aaahhh...
