Where do you normally get your books?

I get most of my books through Amazon. I find lots at thrift stores, too! But, I still love the look, feel and smell of a real book store and love to find small book shops with hidden treasures!

When I was living in the US, the local library was my go to place for books. I was lucky because my library subscribed to Overdrive Media which also gave me access to e-books and audiobooks.

I'm now living on a small island in the tropics and my choices include internet sources such as Amazon, or "take one, leave one" shelves at the local restaurants. The shelves are fun because you get to see what everyone in the community is reading. Now that I think about the way we share books around here, I guess its an informal island book club!

I usually purchase mine from Amazon.
Occasionally I will purchase online from Barnes & Noble and Wal-Mart.

Those shelves sound like a cool idea! I've run into little free libraries around here that have the same policy. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything in them I really wanted to read. But it is still an awesome idea!

I usually go to Barnes and Noble if I don't want to wait for Amazon to ship it. I sometimes buy Amazon ebooks for my kindle. The website thriftbooks is an amazing resource. They offer cheap used books! And if you spend at least 10 dollars you get free shipping! I'm a college student with not much money, and it's really been a lifesaver.

My university used to have one of those free fiction shelves on the honor system. I found out about some of my current favorite authors from those shelves.

I will get books from a thriftbooks site, Barnes N Noble, Walmart, Amazon particularly. I am not picky about where I get my books.

When I lived in San Diego it was at Book Off! Which was a great little store, but now that I am buying books at library book sales, thrift stores and I have a $30 credit at a local used book store, since I sold back a lot of my books when I recently moved. Only time I buy a book brand new is if it is a J.K. Rowling book

I can spend a whole Sunday at the markets going through the book stalls trying to find some hidden gems or just books I don't have in my Library. It's a great feeling when you find a book you have been looking for and then haggle the price. haha

When I buy books for myself, I tend to get them from Half Priced Books. My husband typically buys me books for my birthday and Christmas, and I think these usually come from Amazon.
