I take off the book jacket while reading the book, and I put it back on when I'm done.

I take it off while I am reading the book. I don't want it to get messed up. Then I put it back on when I put the book in the bookcase.

I usually remove it when reading it, then return it to the book once I am finished, or when returning it to the shelf. That way, I could also enjoy the cover art and summaries on the book jacket that usually isn't on the original hard cover, but don't have to worry about having it slip off all the time. 8-)

I keep the book jacket on the book if it is on my shelf or stored, but if I'm reading the book I take off the jacket. I don't want to ruin the jacket while I'm reading the book. When I read a book I take it everywhere with me so I can read it at any time. Messing up a book and/or a book jacket is a pet peeve of mine, so I try to keep both safe.

I just throw away the cover. It is very disturbing while reading and i store my books without the cover.

I tend to take them off while I'm reading so they don't get damaged, then put them back on when the book goes on the shelf!

I feel like throwing away a book cover is a disservice to the book itself. I also set the covers aside when reading. I prefer not to read hardcover books, because of the detachable covers I could easily crumple up with a single slip.

I remove the book cover and place it back on the shelf so it doesn't get ruined.

Throw it away?? There usually brilliant art on the book jacket!

When I am reading the book I always take the jacket off, just makes it easier to hold. However, I always return the jacket to its book when I am done reading the book.

I don't intend to but sometimes I handle the book roughly and it comes off. I nevertheless try to preserve it as much as I can.

I usually take them off the book while I am reading it and then put it back on once I am finished with the book so it looks neat on my bookshelf.

I always remove the jacket while reading. I also take extra special care to preserve it so it stays in pristine condition.

I love book jackets, especially the ones with exceptional art! In my opinion, they make a book stand out a lot more compared to paperback books. However, they can be a bit tedious when I'm reading, so I take them off. When I'm done, I put them back on. It would sadden me if they got crinkled or ruined, and I definitely want to keep them!

I'll take it off while I'm reading the book. However, as soon as I'm done reading the book, I'll put it right back on before returning the book to my bookshelf. The book is worth more if it has the dust cover/jacket or whatever you call it so I never throw it away.
