Very nice cover. It definitely fits the genre well!

Looking at my own complimentary copy, yeah, I like it. Of course I wrote the darn thing, so hey.

But yes, the cover art is excellent and the artist really did a good job. I emailed my editor and she passed on my thanks.

Soon I'll be getting the artwork for the next 2 novels for my approval. Of course the artist knows the books I'm writing are a series and so her artwork will be on a common theme. I'm pretty sure I'll like them.

Great! So you're keeping the same artist? I like continuity in a book series. :-)

As I think I told you in an email too, I like the spine of your book 'cause it's clearly legible. I have a thing against spines where you have to squint or peer at it to see what the title is and who the author is. Drives me crazy!!

Well, the artist is the publisher's contracted person. I have feedback as to the general style of the artwork and this was followed nicely. Were I to choose my own artist I'd likely have to pay myself. But here, the publisher picks up the tab. Fine by me.

They picked a good artist. I like a lot of things about it.

I buy images for my covers at roughly $15 a piece, which is fun... every time I write a new book I get excited about going cover shopping!! It's not commissioned art; it's already created, and you just choose one; but it's definitely one of the parts I enjoy most.

Your cover is fancier, though, with its super-imposed images and such. Mine generally have the one image... hold on, I did super-impose on one book cover... let me find it...

OK, this is the one time I managed to put a vector over an image. Pretty cool, eh? And autumnal!! It's possibly my fave!

This is an old but very interesting video concerning the making of "marbled" book covers.

Do you like bugs on your book covers? :eusa-think:

This (⬆) is one instance where I love the artwork (I've often though how nice it would look hanging on my wall  ), but would actually prefer a little bit different cover.

It is very striking, though...

This is my currently reading book...

Image

It's not a "pretty" cover, but it is very interesting, and oddly enough...fits the book perfectly.

I like the rough feel to it, like it's unfinished. I also like the border on the top.

Fun oddball cover and also the quote from Jabberwocky. Keen.
