I would consider a big book because I like books that are time consuming. I love getting lost in a book and reading for hours.

As for me, a book that has over 300 pages is a big one.

I agree. At least 500 pages but I'd even go as far to say that over 700 pages is big. It also depends on the font size and spacing of course.

It depends how dense it is as well. There are short-ish books with a tremendous amount of allusion and symbolism and such that looking up things makes them feel much longer than otherwise. It's not the best example but Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco, which is 640 pages, is so dense, it might as well be 1,000+.

I agree with the majority here, 500 pages and up is easily a big book. Would probably hurt if you hit someone with it, haha.

I love big books, so if it has over 500 pages I'm usually pretty excited. I agree with previous posters that it varies by content though. If you are unhooked it will drag by and a 400 page book will feel like 1,000. Also how fast you're reading, if you can speed through something, then it's not as daunting and it doesn't feel huge. Even if it could knock you out. :techie-studyingbrown:

It depends on the font, the overall size of the book, margins, etc. But for the most common formatting, anything more than 400 pages is a big book for me.

I would consider any book with more than 700 pages big. But when I am forced to read something I normally would not for school, even a 200 page book seems monstrous.

I agree with a lot of responses from above. Once we hit about the 400-500 page range we are talking about a big book.

I often say that any book with more than 500 pages is a big book, but it depends on the font size and size of the page as well.
