I can always imagine the characters. When I read I tend to imagine the locations in my mind and it really helps me get into the story and makes me feel like I’m watching a movie unfold. Reading really helps keep my imagination kicking.

When I am reading a book and my mind is deep into it I imagine each character in my head...It makes me feel like am watching it more than reading

For me I do see pictures, my mind imagines both the appearance and actions of the characters.

Yes, and quite often when I stop reading I have a weird feeling like I've just paused a very good film.

yeah I do be it people or places, images just seem to flow along with words.
People who read are hiders. They hide who they are. People who hide don't always like who they are.

Yes, it's the best part of reading. That you can create how the scenes would look like in your head.

I o see pictures like its a movie when reading...that's one reason movie adaptations bore me most of the time: because I already have another movie in me to compare to.

I imagine every detail. It's made me a little picky about what books I like because I need a lot of fine details so the image is as clear as possible.

I do the same thing when people talk to me. I imagine exactly what they're saying as they talk.

Yes I’m usually able to imagine the scene and the characters. The more detail in the book the better the imagery.

My husband can’t, and shocker, he doesn’t like reading.

I totally see pictures in my head when I read. I tend to get so absorbed in books I don't hear people say my name. It's almost like I'm not even seeing the words anymore if I'm really invested.

I had always wondered the same thing. You summarized it very well in how I feel about the subject.

I do, my imagination is quite active. I even dream about it, if the book is very good. :D

I would say it depends on how well the author uses imagery. If the writing is done well, I can see the images and smell the smells!

I actually have a pretty hard time imagining things vividly in my mind. Usually I imagine more general outlines of things. For example, I couldn't actually describe to you in detail what a particular character looked like even if they were one of the main characters. It seems like the majority of people have a better visual imagination than I do, but that's just one of those things that differs from person to person. I still appreciate when an author provides good descriptions, and I still enjoy reading of course, so overall my struggle with visualizing things doesn't bother me that much.

I have a hard time picturing exact faces for characters, but I can usually see some sort of picture of what is happening.
