Is there a BAD time to read?

I'm always carrying my latest book. I have never found a bad time to read. I read all the time and LOVE it.

Not a bad time per se, but I am not one to read when somebody tries to have a conversation with me, like when I am waiting at my son's t-ball practice and another parent is chatty. I think that as much as I love to read, it can be as bad as the technological gadgets today, choosing to disconnect from daily interaction.

I personally don't think there is ever a bad time to read, if you have the time on your hands why not pull out a book and read.

For me it is when I am half asleep, but I insist that I am awake enough to read. What ends up happening is I fall asleep cuddling the book. My husband has found me many times sleeping with a book in hand.

I would suggest that while driving is not a good time to be reading - also if you happen to be in bomb disposal!
Also I don't think I'd fancy my dentist to have a book in her hand while working on my molars and if I were in surgery I'd like to have the surgeons' full attention .... and definitely I wouldn't want the anesthesiologist to be lost in a good book.

LOL! :laughing-rolling:

I wouldn't want the person that helps school children cross the street holding the stop sign for in coming traffic to be reading. You'd either end up waiting forever while s/he turns the page before s/he looks up and notices there are no more kids crossing or... well let's not think of the alternative. :eusa-think:

I have actually seen someone holding a paperback book against her steering wheel during rush hour! It made me nervous being around her.

I also would recommend not reading while on the job like Fran stated, I wouldn't fancy my GYN holding a book in her hand or something.

The worst time for me is when I'm supposed to be going to work soon ..... reading just one more chapter often seems a far better idea than not having to run to work with barely a minute to spare. When I'm supposed to be spending time with my husband is also not great, "just 5 minutes" often turns into 5 hours later and a slightly annoyed husband!

There is never a bad time to read. I read every chance I get no matter what I am doing or what time of day it is. I have books and I have the a reading app so I can read on the go. I love books and will for the rest of my life and I will be a famous writer soon.

I personally find it difficult to read while I'm high on Ambien.
