I keep the books I enjoy just because there's a attachment with the books.

I love to keep all the books that I buy but I am running out of space for them all. I am working on sorting through them and trying to decide which ones to get rid of. I try to sell them but will probably donate the ones that I can't. Of course their are those ones that I will never be able to part with.

If I truly love a book I buy a hardcover edition; all others are ebooks. If I do acquire a paperback, when I'm finished with it I always donate it.

My local library raises money through the sale of donated books, and local prisons are always looking for book donations to keep their library shelves filled.

I did donate most of them when I got a Kindle, but now I regret it. I needed the room at the time but I wish that I had just packed them up. I really enjoy reading an actual book when I can.

I couldn't throw away a book and most likely wouldn't donate them either. Only because I love to keep physical books.

I keep a lot of my books even some of my old textbooks from college but those I didn't like or won't reread, I usual donate. But also consider selling (as maroki13 mentioned) to buy new books.

I have a kindle but I am always buying traditional books. The thought of tossing them when I bought the kindle never even crossed my mind. If there is a book I really didn't care for or won't read again I would donate them unless they are in pretty bad shape, pages missing, etc. Only then would I consider dumping a book.

Before my Kindle, I would let my cousin go through and pick the books she wanted then my mom would toss the ones my cousin didn't pick! I would have donated them but, I didn't know she was tossing them!

Donate it, always! I would never throw out a book, it could be read by another person. I take them to the salvation army or give to co workers.

When it comes to a problem like this I'm actually pretty lucky; I've got four siblings and they all like to read, so when I need to get rid of books I can always give them to family. Same thing with my friends, they're all readers so we often end up giving each other books or swapping books. So I've never really had to toss my books or give them to strangers...it's easier that way, I think!

I have never had the problem of having to get rid of my books since I don't own that many but if I did have that problem I think I would choose to donate them. I would never ever just throw them away, that seems like such a wasteful, sad thing to do. :P

Never ever ever toss. Okay I could think of one situation where I would toss it, and that would be if it is in such horrible shape that it is almost unreadable. I will always donate or try to sell any books I simply don't want anymore. I keep a very small pile of books that I'll have on my bookshelves after the rest are done but not much more.

I can hardly bring myself to get rid of any books! Unless they were extra copies, or I bought the paperback and then found it in hardcover, I tend to keep the hardcovers and get rid of the mass market paperbacks. Otherwise, I would totally donate them!

You should definitely donate!! There are so many people that would love the chance to read a book, and they'll be able to do that with your help. If you toss them nobody can read them.
