Donate. Donate. Donate.

I would never toss books in the garbage. The thought of it honestly makes me a little angry. I had to get rid of a couple totes of books when I moved towns, but I donated them to the local library. It was a sad day but I'm glad others get to enjoy the books.

I always donate all the books that I don’t enjoy anymore. I also give them to my mother for her classroom and my school library. Now, I get my books from the library so I don’t have this problem anymore.

Donating is always the best option as you will never find someone rejecting a book donation.

I donated most of mine to school but I have also used pages of old books to decoupage a craft table and my bannister!

Donate it please "one person's garbage is another person's treasure'. Even if you don't like a book or don't want it anymore, someone else may have use for it.

I always donate to libraries or schools, but you could also bring them into a used book store and maybe make some money by selling them.

I have books that I love that have been on my shelves for years. Other books that I maybe won't re-read as much often get donated or passed around between my friends. We will do a trade every now and then where we all swap books to get some new material.

The only reasons that I would toss a book would be missing pages or water damage. Most books have the ability to be shared and enjoyed. There is a book for everyone, if I don't enjoy it someone else will.

I keep those that are meaningful to me, but the ones I'm sure I don't want to read again I donate to the library or thrift shop.
I couldn't discard a book unless it was seriously damaged, in which case it can be recycled.

I donate all of my books, except my spiritual books that I have written in. I pick those up every couple of years and get a new take on the subject matter.

I don't just keep my books, I guard them actually. Only on few occasions I give out. With kindle and other mobile devices, it's more of keeping now

My grandparents have a small library and a reading nook at their house and my sister and I re-organized it recently. A lot of the books were still intact but have not been opened in years so we just put them in a box, which is now in the attic, because the folks are sentimental and couldn't part from it. Books with torn/missing pages were brought to a recycling place. I'd say if it's still in good shape and you don't want it anymore or don't need it anymore, it would be better off being donated to either a local library or organizations similar to The Library Project.

Definitely donate it. There are so many places here in town that take donated books to re-sell them. So I drop books off there. That way I hope they are going to a good home and will be appreciated again by someone new.

If I no longer want a book, I always donate it! There's no reason to toss it if there is somewhere that will take it.
