Suggestions for mystery books

Post by Brigadoon14 »

I'm not a mystery reader, but I (out of the blue) have developed this desire to read mysteries. Do you have suggestions? I think I'd like to read a psychological mystery instead of a hard-core detective story.

Ditto to Paula Hawkins.

Also try The Silkworm or Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling's adult pen name).

Anything by Kimberly McCreight is highly recommended, as is In the Woods by Tana French.

Thank you Fran. Thank you jacnthabox. This will give me a good start, and (who knows) I may turn out to love mysteries.

Try anything by Ruth Rendell or PD James

I just finished reading The Couple Next Door - I was captivated from beginning to end and left wanting more once I put the book down!
