Miss Someone?

Is there an author that you just couldn't get enough of? What would you do if they stopped writing for some reason? Has this already happened to you?

I actually really miss JK Rowling! I think there's so much more she could do with the world she created. Maybe a prequel? I'd take anything at this point...the Harry Potter books are the entirity of my childhood, I'd love to have that again.

I've heard a few people say that. I've actually never read anything by her (I know, I'm behind), but I plan to soon.

I'd be hugely disappointed if Nicola Griffith ever stopped writing.

I was very disappointed when Lemony Snicket ended the Series of Unfortunate Events series. It seems the author has written other books (under his real name and otherwise) but none of them seem quite as interesting.

I actually just put a Nicola Griffith book on my TBR list. And Katie, that is unfortunate that none of the rest of them were as interesting.

I miss a couple of authors which passed away recently such as Elizabeth Peter, and Terry Pratchett. I will re-read their books I guess.

I'm sorry to hear this Gali. Have you read all of their books already?

I have, I own all of her books. I think you'll find they stand alone well, but Stay is actually the second book (of three) of the Aud Torvingen story. The Blue Place is the first one and really sets the stage for knowing/understanding the character. If you have a chance, try that one first.

Her books are not a lazy read, she expects the reader to pay attention and stay mentally engaged in the story. They are also not pretty much of the time, she writes her characters with significant flaws. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Thank you so much for telling me this. I had no idea that Stay was the second in a series, so thank you for this as well. I will put the Blue Place on my TBR right now.

Libba Bray is an author that I can't get enough of. I really hope that she doesn't stop writing, because I love her style!
