Memory of Water by Emmi Itaranta
Global warming has changed the world’s geography and its politics. Wars are waged over water, and China rules Europe, including the Scandinavian Union, which is occupied by the power state of New Qian. In this far north place, seventeen-year-old Noria Kaitio is learning to become a tea master like her father, a position that holds great responsibility and great secrets. Tea masters alone know the location of hidden water sources, including the natural spring that Noria’s father tends, which once provided water for her whole village.

But secrets do not stay hidden forever, and after her father’s death the army starts watching their town—and Noria. And as water becomes even scarcer, Noria must choose between safety and striking out, between knowledge and kinship.
Pronouns: She/Her

I have the same problem. I just keep adding and adding more books, yet they are not the next ones I read. HeHeHe. However, I do have the sincere intention to read them, I just don't know when I'll have the time. That's why I wish I had three or four lives to be able to read all the books I have in my 'to read' shelf and in my diary. The last book I added was: Undead and Unappreciated by MaryJanice Davidson.

The last book I added to my To Read list was The Godfather by Mario Puzo. Luckily, a friend lent it to me and I finished it. So, currently, I have nothing on my to-read list, though I might add the book you just mentioned.

Sometimes the ''to read'' list is too long, but sometimes I struggle to find new books to read. The latter is happening right now. I believe the last book I added was An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir or The Lonely Sorceress by Mitchell, T. Rae.

The last book I added was The Expansion - I want to be ready for the discussion! I am also trying to make my way through most of this year's BOTMs so I can go back and discuss them in the forums.

Today, I added four books. The BOTD and three of Mois Benarroch's books. After reading his Keys to Tetouan, I am just curious about his style of writing as well the themes of his newly added books. So, the latest of these will be The Immigrants.

The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James. I've been adding a ton of classics to my "to read" list lately on Goodreads.
