I could more easily say the ones I don't like. That would include sci-fi, but I'm trying to change that.

I love YA Fantasy, even though I'm an adult. I find the YA books are more fresh with new and interesting ideas without the tarnish of being an adult. I like to forget that I'm an adult sometimes. That's what escapism is all about, yes?

I voted for Young Adult. It's the one genre that I feel lets me go back and feel like a teenager again. I have to have to use more imagination when reading these books and it helps keep me creative and not losing the child within.

I like paranormal romance the best so I chose fantasy. I also like many of the young adult novels.

It is easier for me to say what i don't quite enjoy--crime. I am very open. I read for the enjoyment and do not want to read any mystery/crime novels because they are too close to reality. Anything else i am very open to as long as the author does a great job grabbing my attention and holding it. I have been known to read a 300 page plus book in a few hours if i cannot put it down. I would say that i am very flexible :-)

My favorite genre didn't make the poll, but I just love a good bildungsroman. I think most, if not all of my favorite books fall into this category.

I have a tie for favorite genre: Psychological Thriller and YA fantasy. For the most part I try to avoid historical and detective/crime novels but every now and then a story line will pull me in despite the fact im not a fan of the genre.

I'm tied between fantasy and sci-fi, but fantasy has a slight edge, just because I like magic and wonder.
