My eyes got a lot better once I got reading glasses. I still have to take breaks after a few hours though. It's not worth straining your eyes!

My eyes only hurt when there's either too much light or if I'm reading from my Kindle. If they start to hurt from the Kindle, I turn down the brightness or sometimes I'll take a break as well. If they hurt from the lighting surround me, I try and change positions so the light is at a different angle. :)

Not so much when I read paper books. Reading too much on an ereader on the other hand is a completely different story. I get a headache sometimes and my eyes burn.

My eyes used to hurt a lot when I read and I had to look through my glasses just right to be able to see the words. Now that I have a Kindle I put the font up to the second largest and I can read forever. I don't even have to wear my glasses if I don't want to if I am using my Kindle as long as it isn't a PDF book. This is good news for me because I love to read.

I have this same problem, I can read for only a few hours at a time before my eyes hurt. I believe that I forget to blink sometimes and my eyes dry out.

When my eyes start hurting, I take it as a sign that I must now sleep. Lol.

I am the same way. If I take a short break I can usually go right back to reading. I haven't ever been able to read with my bifocals though.

My eyes usually don't hurt if I am reading a "real" book. Reading on a device or screen, yes. Then I just take a short break, close my eyes and pick it back up again. Lol!! Probably not the best thing!

It's not very often that my eyes start to hurt after reading. When it does happen, I usually take a break for a while. A lot of times it's just because I'm tired, and I'll just take a nap.

Yes, they hurt me, but I usually don't stop reading until I realize I'm having a terrible headache. :?

It depends. Sometimes glasses help, especially after reading for a long time. But nothing helps when I have a headache with the hurting eyes, when they come together it's difficult to read, with or without glasses.

Oh, definitely. Read long enough and you'll begin to feel uncomfortable. So take your eyes off the book, rest for a good period of time, then resume.

I tend to get a headache before my eyes hurt. I am prone to headaches and migraines though. I also find my arm or neck hurts depending on how I am holding the book.

Every once in a while if I go long stretches without taking a break. More often than not my eyes will start hurting when I read due to already having a headache.
