Yeah, my eyes get really dry and I have to remember to blink when I read. And when I get a headache from straining my eyes too long, I have to force myself to rest for a while and do some eye exercises.

If I have been reading for several hours straight, yes then my eyes do start straining and hurting.

My eyes start to bother me after reading a book for about eight hours. So I take a break and then I start reading again.

I had lasik surgery a few years ago and they don't bother me at all while reading no matter how long I read. I feel one of my eyes growing tired if I look at a computer screen for to long but not from reading a book. I think looking at a monitor is more stressful for your eyes than reading a book is.

Yep, it happens to me too. I read so much that my eyes start to hurt long before I'm ready to stop. So I just give them a little break and get back to it :)

It's weird, but honestly for me, it all depends on if I'm enjoying the book I'm reading. If I'm daydreaming about wanting to read another book, or my thoughts are "when is this going to get good?", my eyes will ache and start to water at times. Now, if I'm reading and the automatic timer on my e-reader lets me know it's been a full 60 minutes that I've been reading and my eyes need a rest...usually, depending on my mood, I will either patiently wait until it disappears off my screen so I can continue or get a bit perturbed because it's interrupting and being a buzz kill. With the later, my eyes will only betray me if they say it's time to sleep. Never win that battle :/

I have never experienced eye pain or pressure from reading. I have, however, experienced eye fatigue. I usually take a 5-10 minute break to use the restroom, stretch my legs, or grab a bite to eat at this point. This physical fatigue seems to be exacerbated if the book I am reading is not an engaging experience. Other times, I find that I experience no fatigue at all. In fact, if the book is too good to put down, I find myself giddy. I would even describe the feeling to be comparable to an endorphin rush. Oh how I love to read!

My eyes always hurt. I think I need glasses. I just stop for the day and start up again the next morning.

My eyes start to hurt after a few hours of reading. Eye strain they say. Who needs that when you have a great book and don't want to set it down?!
