Do your eyes hurt while you read?

Post by YessiGray »

Sometimes when you read too much, your eyes may begin to blur and water. While some stop, others keep on going. Whenever my eyes start to hurt I take a small break and keep on going. What about you? What ablation do you take?

My eyes usually go to bothering me after a few hours of reading. I take a break and let the rest and then jump right back into reading! :)

I have a tendency to read late into the night, and around one or two in the morning I often have to put the book down because it starts to hurt.

Ahh yes I understand what you mean. I used to have that habit as well but decided to break it when my eyes were seriously started to be affected

Yes they do and I take a break to let them rest.

I will get a headache before my eyes start bothering me. Perhaps I get a headache because my eyes start bothering me and I can't tell? I dunno - but rarely do I have issues with my eyes. Except of course that I am blind as a bat and need corrective lenses.

ANYWAY eye pain is rarely an issue for me. When I get a headache though I usually stop reading.

I don't recall ever having that problem. I read for hours and hours and don't remember anything like this occurring.

This has only happened to me a few times. I just give them a rest by closing my eyes and listening to some music :)

This has happened to me before, i'll get a headache and my eyes will feel scratchy and sore. This is usually because i've spent all day at work staring at a computer monitor, and then all evening reading via an e-reader.

Pop an advil and get back at 'er. What? Is that wrong, because that's probably what i'm going to be doing on my busy Friday night tonight.

Mine do, but only if I was been reading for multiple hours. I should take a break at that point but I'm probably super addicted to whatever it is I'm reading and don't want to put it down, so I usually just continue. My real problem is after awhile of eyes hurting usually my head starts to as well.

My eyes pound at times. When it does, it's a sign to stop reading.. for the hour.
