One of those huge old dictionaries (Webster's New Universal Unabridged, to be exact), with well over 2000 pages. Besides that, probably my copy of Afterwolds by Scott Westerfeld, coming in at 624 pages, as my copy of the 5th Harry Potter book hasn't been in my possession in years, and any thicker non-reference books I might have read weren't mine.

I suppose that would be (because one must factor page size and font size)...
1. The Norton Anthology American Literature (shorter seventh edition) with 2874 pages.
2. Liteature of Britain with world classics by Holt Rinehart and Winston with 1187 pages.
3. The Encyclopedia of spirits by Judika Illes or Elements of Literatures (sixth course) with 1037 pages.

IT by Stephen King. Dunno if it's entirely worth the 1000+ pages but it's still satisfying to turn that last page!

It is either The Lord of the Rings, Shogun or The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

My Lord of the Rings edition is split over the three books, so I can't count that. Without getting up to look at page numbers, it would have to be either James Clavell's "Shogun" or "War and Peace".

The thickest fiction book I own is Vikram Seth's 'A Suitable Boy' (thicker than my copy of War and Peace!) but I have a dictionary that's bigger than either of them!

I have several really thick books on my shelves. The History of Art is huge! The Complete Signet Classic Shakespeare also has some girth and heft. The thickest paperback is Godel, Escher and Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid.

I own The Giver quartet all in one book. My thickest book that's just one book is called Becoming Beyonce: The Untold Story.

I believe the largest book I own is an anthology of all of William Shakespeare's plays. I bought it when I was with my father at an estate sale when I was younger, but I am ashamed to admit that I have never read from it. While I have read Romeo and Juliet and am currently reading The Merchant of Venice, I imagine it to be very hard to ready from the small-font, one-thousand-plus-page books that loom over me in my living room.
