How has reading helped with your vocabulary

Post by Dickson Precious »

Personally, I became addicted to reading novels since I clocked 18. It was one way to escape reality. Reading has really changed my life. Exposure to vast knowledge and a change in my vocabulary cannot be overemphasized.

A lot of ways. When I was in high school, my English teacher always select me to read in class. I also represented my school in various debate competitions.
My friends do tell me that I speak like Americans, even though English is my second language.

I started reading since I was 8. I've been an avid lover of Novels since then and my vocabulary has been top notch. My friends complain when I speak with big words but they never believe I learn these words from novels.

I wouldn't say my vocabulary has improved drastically as compared to when I didn't read often, but I've noticed how I write and express my thoughts has improved significantly.

Actually, I think writing these reviews has improved my vocabulary. Reading allows me to see new words, but when writing, I have to be creative.

It has helped my vocabulary greatly. I have no experience reviewing or in literature but because I read a lot, I am capable of doing some good writing

Reading has definitely helped my vocabulary. Especially with e-readers, it’s so easy to click a word and then it automatically pulls up the dictionary.

Yes, it did. Not only has reading improved my vocabulary, but it has also improved my grammar.

I love reading books written by authors from all over the world, learning the slang from different countries.
I've been reading for at least 35 years, and I've learned so many new words in that time.

I have made remarkable progress in my vocabulary as a result of my reading. Before I started online book club, I didn't really know how to construct grammatically correct sentences. But look at me today, I'm perfect.
