Errors are a complete deal breaker for me! They distract me alot, so the presence of a fair number of them in a book puts me off. It's so bad that when I pick up a book, go through a page or two and find that it's pretty much faultless in this regard, I catch myself heaving a deep breath of relief; then I can pretty much relax and enjoy the book.

Spelling errors or sentences that don't make sense, I am okay with grammatical errors because they don't really affect your understanding of the sentences.

An error here or there I can overlook, but repeated errors in a book are enough to distract me from the story.

A few number of errors won't bother me but when it seems consistent, then it becomes a bother

Unless it's excessive errors normally don't bother me but there are times when I am reading e-books and the grammar is truly horrible. I don't encounter too many of these books though.

Errors jump right off the page at me and temporarily interrupt the flow. Most likely because I was editor of our school newspaper way back in the day. That being said, if they are minor and few, I can live with it.

Except when they are my own, LOL! I recently was reading my second book manuscript for final print okay and found one that both myself and my editor missed. I think it was because when read aloud, they sound the same. I couldn't believe I had written "next store neighbor" when it obviously should have been "next door neighbor", haha! Yes all are infallible.

If there are minor errors here or there such as a typo, I'd be able to look past it. But if it's grammatical and too many errors appear, I'd be put off and just disregard completing the book.

Errors don't really bother me unless it's so bad that it makes the flow of the story choppy. Also if I have no idea what the author is trying to say, it makes me want to put the book down and not continue.

If the errors are big enough to interrupt the flow of the book, or there are so many that they're annoying, then I often can't finish the book! Unless its an amazing, life-changing book, I stop reading :)

I have been known to leave a book in anger after noticing unmissable errors. That said, I do make many errors myself, so perhaps I should cool down, someday...

It depends for me. I tend to gloss over them with humour if I am enjoying reading the book. If I am hating it or feeling bored while reading it then they will just add fuel to the fire.

Errors bother me.

I feel that if you have gone through the trouble of publishing a book, make sure it's ready. I feel errors in a book take away my suspended belief and I am returned to the real world of an author making similar grammar mistakes as my middle school students.

(Anyone else feel like if they have an error in a post on this forum they have just failed and their opinion is invalid?)

I usually overlook minor errors, but repetitive errors that can be easily corrected are bothering for me. It clearly shows that the book is poorly edited.

I notice these errors so easily as i'm such a perfectionist! They annoy me but I can let it go if they're minimal in a book. If there is a lot it just makes the author look very unintelligent.
