Never. Read them. Always. No book should be left unread just because it isn't "adult" enough or a high enough level. Sometimes the best written gems out there are for younger readers.
Somewhere out there is a world we never knew existed.

Languages never spoken.
Colors that should not be.
Lives never opened.
Eyes that never see.

And then the page is turned, a universe created.

We are gods.

The last I read was The Secret Garden and I still loved it just as much as if I were still a child.

I don't think you are ever too old to read anything. I think reading books from when you were younger is a nice way to reconnect with memories.

Not at all! Especially if you are aspiring to be a Children's Librarian! :). But really, anyone can read what they want. I for one can't wait to read to begin reading 39 Clues, Junie B. Jones, and Geronimo Stilton. Just because they are for little people it doesn't mean we adults can't enjoy them.

No, I love to reread books that I liked when I was younger. I remember the feeling I got from them then, and want to experience it again. Especially when they're holiday books, because that really helps to get me into the holiday spirit!

Never too old!! I recently went browsing in my local library and spent most of the day sitting in a chair in the kids section rereading The Giver.

Personally I feel that it is a good thing to reread some of the childhood books that made us fall in love with reading. Sometimes the books can leave us just as breathless reading them again as an adult as they did when we read them as a child. For those of you who journal, looking back over your notes from the first time you read the book can help you to see how much you have grown as a reader and as a person. It is interesting to look back and see what I thought about as a child versus what I think about now as an adult while reading the same book.

I love how there aren't any negative comments in this thread (at least on the page I'm looking at)... So now nice to see some people not being condescending toward children's books.

You need to red the rest in the series. They were all good.

No one is ever too old to read children's or young adult books. I like the innocence and wonder of children's books. Children's books are very creative and the illustrations can be wonderful. Nothing wrong with reading them…who do you think is writing them

Anytime. I think people should read whatever they like to read. It's better than reading nothing at all. I tease my niece and ask her how her "vampire smut" books are, lol. I do it in a loving way and she knows it :D I find it wrong of people to judge someone for what they read.
