How many physical books you are having in your personal library?

Post by Umesh Bhatt »

Due to introduction of ebooks people are now keeping less number of physical books with them but still we all have a collection of some books in our personal library in our house. How many books you have in your possession? Please count all sort of books - school books, text books, dictionaries, children stories, novels, non fiction, religious books, technical books etc etc.
To start with I tell my collection that is about 250 books.

I estimate that there are about 400-500 books around me, meaning within my household. Your question is interesting because it made me think about how the perception of having books in the house changed over time. Nowadays, it is not a must-have to possess lots of books to consider yourself to be a dedicated reader.

Yes, there was a time when the living room was stacked with books across the racks along the walls. Today, we have the whole thing in our smartphone!

I have around four books, all of them high school classics. The rest of the books I own are in electronic format.

I think my wife and I have a physical library over 500 books. We could easily have thousands more

I used to have several hundred books. Then I moved to a smaller house and gave most of them away to charity. Now I use the public lending library more and rarely buy my own physical copy of books any more.

I have around 15 - 25 books. Half of them were novels and some dictionaries from my highschool. Mostly the novels were a gift or lost and found item, not many people were into books in here, kinda sad.

I might have about 100 books, maybe fewer. I own more electronic books than physical books nowadays. I still buy physical books because I love to read a proper, real book, holding it in my hands. However, I tend to give them away once I finish reading them.
