LOL! Was it a passage from one of her Sleeping Beauty books? That's a series of erotic fantasy books by her that I didn't discover until I was an adult. It's completely different content-wise from the Vampire Chronicles, so don't worry. I was definitely NOT reading softcore porn in middle school.

My first grade teacher made me love to read. She'd sit with me a few times a week, and work on reading a short book until I gained confidence in my reading. Ever since, I've loved to read. Grew up on the Babysitter books, and Sweet Valley High. Have since moved on to bigger things, haha. Love Sci-Fi the most probably. But like other things, too. Also love the Harry Potter books. Was one of those who had a lot friends reading them when they came out. But I didn't get into them until a few years ago.

Haha you know what I think it was. That's good to know. BTW there was nothing "softcore" about this passage... it included pretty much every word that cannot be uttered on national television, had aspects of BDSM and I'm not sure everything was entirely consensual. Definitely changed the way I viewed women writers... then again with the exception of Ayn Rand I can't remember the last time I read a book written by a woman.

I was grounded one day and had to read for school and my Mom said she bought me a graphic novel. So, I checked it out and it was Artemis Fowl ever since then I was hooked on reading.

Enid Blytons stories are what I remember most fondly from my childhood, in particular the Famous Five series and The Magic Faraway Tree. It was all such a long time ago, there have been so many great classics since then.

My reading started with the Babysitters Club. I think I was 12 when that series came out. But my parents bought me Dr. Seuss and the Bernstein Bears books. But as a teenager I read Gone with the Wind, Interview with the Vampire, some autobiographies and all school related reading.

I read everything I could online and but took time away from books until about 18 months ago when I had my daughter. I decided I wanted to read and I ordered the Twilight book for $4 along with several other cheap books... I had no idea what I was getting into other then all the books I bought were vampire related. Let me tell you how happy I was to open my mind again. Now I read a book every 2 days and my husband thinks I am nuts. 8)

When I was in 5th grade, my teacher had a contest of whoever could read the most books. I was determined to win(although I ended up getting second. lol). After that, I just continued with it. I love it.

The Berenstein Bears. I must have read hundreds of them when I was in first grade.
