When I read I leave my phone on but when it rings I never pick it up as I am just getting to the best part of the book,so I let it ring! 8)

I, proudly, do not have a cell phone. No service in the country. So, no, but, yes.

No, I rarely turn my phone off, but answering it is another question depending on the book. If I'm not in a particularly exciting part, I'll answer phone calls, but I generally ignore the texts until I'm at a place where I feel comfortable stopping.

I do not turn my phone off when I read, I have a daughter who is in college in NYC. This was her freshman year, I was always so nervous. I do put it on vibrate though.

I don't turn my phone off while reading, because I like to research interesting points the book brings up. Or to look up words I am unfamiliar with. If someone calls or texts, I figure I have the courteous 24 hrs to get back to them.

You make a good point. A lot of people use their phones as an eBook.
